How do I alternate between a poerpoint show and desktop applicatio

I have a laptop I purchased new in June of 2007 which has a Windows XP
Media Edition operating system.

How am I able to switch between my Powerpoint presentaion and a desktop
application (Outlook) so that as I view them, they are also projected through
the projector?

When I do it now, my powerpoint show is viewed, but I'm unable to see how to
have my desktop application viewded. It only shows my background
screen/wallpaper of my computer. I'm unable to have it show what's actually
on MY Screen.

Can anyone help me? Urgent presentaion tommorow. Thanks.

If Outlook is already running, can you use Alt+Tab to locate and bring up
Outlook during slide shows? You can also use Alt+Tab to go back to the
running slide show.
