How do I add an item that isn't an appointment?

I want to add an item such as NO SCHOOL or 1/2 DAY or HOT LUNCH to my
calendar, yet they are not APPOINTMENTS, just a notation. How can I have
these show up on my calendar for a specific day? And, can I color code
(LABEL) them with the calendar LABELS?
 
Check the All Day checkbox on the appointment form.
