How do I add a slide from file into a slide show?

How do I add a slide from file into a slide show? I have made a slide show to
music but the show ends before the music. I need to import some more slides
from file to pad out the show. How can I do this?
 
Hi,

A number of ways. Either via the slide sorter view. Then copy and paste into
the new area. Or Insert| Slides from File through the Insert menu. Now, you
may have to readjust your sound depending on how it is inserted and set to
play. And if you had told us your PowerPoint version, I could advise on

I will try that. I thougt I had tried it already and all
of the slides stacked up on top of each other.
I am using PP2003

Hi Glen
I have just tried to Insert| Slides from File through the
Insert menu from My Pictures and I get the message in PP
that it is unable to open a JPEG
Help?

I thought I would try the copy and paste method but after
I copy, the paste is not highlighted in PP but it must be
on the clip booard as I can paste into a new blank sheet
in Photoshop CS. NOt getting too far at the moment on
this adding more pics to an exisiting presentation.
Help?
 
Are you trying to import images or slides? If you have Photoshop images try
Insert > New Slide and then on the new slide use Insert > Picture > Picture from
File.

Thanks for that Sonia but when I click on Insert, new
slide then I get the new slide OK. I highlight that then
click on Insert, picture but the picture from file is not
lit only new photo album. Ideas?
 
Sorry Sonia that's what I am doing. I am clicking at the
end of the last slide in the show then clicking add a new
slide and then when that manifests itself in the desing
of the slide of my choice I am clicking on that and then
going to insert but the option to add picture from file
is not lit?
 
Charlie,
When you go to add the picture, are you clicking on the slide itself or the
thumbnail of it? The way I am reading this, you are clicking in the left
hand column (the slide thumbnails) to do the insert. You then need to click
the actual slide itself to add the picture.
