How do I add a location to send/receive mail to?

The error message I get when I try to open my Outlook
program says that I need to add a location to send/receive
mail to but I can't figure out how to do that.

It then asks if I want to open my default File System
folder instead -- but if I click yes, Outlook opens with
no way to send/receive mail and none of my old settings
(folders, contacts, etc.).

Does anyone know how to add a location and what that
location should be? I feel as though I must have
accidentally deleted an important file.

It's looking for your .PST file -- somehow Outlook has lost its link to
the file. Search your drive for all .PST files, and when you find the
one that makes sense (by file size and date), point Outlook to it when
it asks for a send/receive location. Note that if you're using Windows
2000 or XP, you'll need to search in hidden and system folders to find
..PST files.

You have to define an e-mail account (so it knows where to deliver
incoming e-mails). Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Mail.
