I do NOT want to have to give these update programs permission EVERY time I
start my computer , how do I make the permission permanent?

I don't know why THIS function has to be so complicated.

Click Start, Control Panel. Type "startup" in the search box. Click "Stop a
program from running at startup".

Thank you Nathanial for the reply ,

I want this program to run at startup , but I do NOT want to have to give
it permission to run every time the pc starts

Hello,

There is no way to grant this program permission automatically.

The application is in error - it should not be prompting for your permission
on startup in the first place.

Thanks Jim , I will just ax the program and contact Intervideo about the
error.

BTW Dave , it is a listed VISTA READY program from Intervideo called WinDVD
8 , the part that causes the warning about not being registered is the
automatic update program that came with it that wants to start at boot and I
guess run constantly , I really don't think I need it.

You need to Turn off User Account Control setting in order to stop it from
asking for permission each time it starts up. It's a security thing Vista has
built in to it and a pain in the arse, but itcan be bypassed. Open Control
Panel, open User accounts and turn it off there.
