how disabling automatic updating and installing

M

max

Hi,

some days ago I used the automatic feature of wupdmgr.exe
to download and install any update of win2k; now I can't
see the icon on the taskbar anymore and I would come back
to the previous situation (manual) cause the automatic
reboot, obviously, close some network clients running...

Can someone help me to solve that?

thanx a lot

'Start' menu -> 'Run' -> compmgmt.msc [enter]
select from left tree 'Services and applications'->'Services'
Find the 'Automatic updates' service and double click on it.
Select [start type] - 'Automatic', press [apply button] and press [start
button]

then

go to 'Control panel' -> 'Automatic updates'
check 'Keep my computer up to date...' and check first radio button below.
press apply
