Brand new Dell Studio laptop
Vista Home Premium

I'm having audio problems with Adobe Premier Elements. The message says
"Failed to initialize the audio card. Your audio card must not support full
duplex."

I downloaded the latest drivers, no joy. So I'm considering removing the
card from Device Manager and reinstall it.

Used to be a piece of cake in the Win95-XP days.

How about with Vista?

James

Boot into Safe Mode to remove it in Device Manager - this will show
if there is more than one loaded driver set, delete all. Then just reboot
and load the latest driver.

Thanks Spirit. I'll give it a try.

How do you get into Safe Mode with Vista?

You can also run MSCONFIG (Start - MSCONFIG in search box)

Boot Tab - check Safe box - OK and reboot

When in Safe Mode - MSCONFIG - Boot Tab - uncheck the box
