how could I edit registry

SUBJECT: how could I type numbers When win2k_Pro boot up?

Not so clear as it might be...

To enable the Num Lock to an "on" state for the initial Desktop and
login screen try Tip # 1594 (and others) at
http://www.jsiinc.com

And me thinking Keith couldn't enter numbers at the login screen for
Windows. Keith, don't write like you would in a memo to yourself. Write so
WE can understand.

You really need to be less brief! <G>

The resource for the information you need (re: Num Lock) has been
posted already. There are two issues. One is the pre-logon NumLock
state and the other is the post-logon NumLock state (for your
account). (HKU\.default\ and HKCU\) areas.

As to "how could I edit registry"...
If that is a serious question taken at face value, you are in for a
speech about doing some research and self-education. MS has articles
on using the provided registry tools for your OS version. Read them
and teach yourself. Do not neglect all the safety and backup
procedures.
