How compare 2-3 colums with (match)

Hi..specialists.. me again

--1-- Got 6 colums with numbers in (A-B-C-D-E-F down till 3000)
--2-- value between 1-42 numbers to check
--3-- A-B-C-D-E-F got the random combinations out of (1-42 value)
Lotto calculation ... still busy with it ..

--Now i want to see how many times there are combinations of
2 and 3 same numbers in 1rows of 6 numbers.
(a1-b1-c1-d1-e1-f1) till 3000 to check.
--Or better how many times a certain combination out of 2 or 3 sam
numbers appears several times and counting ...

Like how many times the numbers :

23-24 together in row of 6
or 25-38 together in row of 6
or 12-15-16 together in row of 6
etc...a check out of all possible combinations for 2 or 3 together.

Seems complicated ??, my brains are to small for this !!...
do someone think this is possible to create with a formula
or do someone has a good VB module..

Many thanks to everybody who allready gave me
good formulas and VB modules to get this far in my
project... when i got the magic 6, i buy a beer..

Any possible idee is welcome

I have a spreadsheet that I can send you that will do that for pairs of numbers,
and will give you a 42 x 42 matrix with the count of each of those pairs as long
as you fill in all the 6 number draw results in a table. It is courtesy of some
formulas that Harlan Grove put together for me, and if you want it then just
tell me how many sets of 6 numbers you have to go in to the table, and where to
send it.

Will only do pairs, and that is complicated enough for me, so you're on your own
for 3s :-)

--- numbers from 1 till 42,
--- in rows of each 6 different numbers (out of 42)

so my list count 1915 sets of each 6 numbers for now..
but my countings go up to 3000 needed to get more inputs every week
2 mores sets a week..
