I am trying to restore my computer but it says "Restoration Incomplete". I
tried right clicking my computer and viewing the properties and it says that
I am allowed to use the system restore. I tried restoring my computer to many
different points. How can I fix my system restore?

turn it off
reboot
turn it on

all restore points will be gone..........create a new one

I can't lose all of my restore points. I need to set my computer back to a
time the past. If create a restore point now it would be pointless.

System restore has some fundamental flaws, such has harboring viruses.
Though this isn't the answer you are looking for, it's best to disable time
travel. Pick a solution for backing up data. If you constantly have
problems with your OS, then invest in a backup utility, something like Ghost
or Paragon Drive Backup, and burn images of your partition in a fresh install
state and whatever later states you wish to hold onto forever.

As for your immediate problem, if your system restore won't work, then
concentrate on figuring out how to rescue your date.

I have no clue what an OS is.

I do have Norton 2006 on my computer and that was a huge mistake. I am going
to turn off system restore. Reboot then turn it back on. I will then
uninstall Norton.

Peter- My probelm was that I couldnt get a program I had just installed to
get off of my computer. I tried system restore and it didnt work. I fixed the
problem by going to Geek Squad at Best Buy. I am now doing what you told me
to do in teh first place

Another thing is.... What is the best Anti-Virus/Spyware program?

Marissa
An OS is an Operating System...like Windows 98 or XP Home or XP Pro or
Vista.
Without an OS you computer will not function.
There are a lot of "good" anti virus programs but opinions vary as to which
is the "best"
Free ones....AVG..........BitDefender
Anti Spyware free............Ad-Aware.....SpywareBlaster....Spybot
Search&Destroy
Free firewall.........ZoneAlarm
You can find all of these by doing a Google search................and they
work!!!
BUT..dont forget whichever you install to update them regularly or set them
to do it themselves.
