I have about a hand full of users that using my 2003sbs
vpn server the only problem when they disconect the
conection is left open how can I close it or have it
close when they disconect?

Not sure what you mean. If they disconnect then they're not connected.
You're not talking about remote desktop (termserv), by any chance ...are
you??

No they are xp pro to connect to the server via vpn or
pptp vpn. They don't use remote desktop or remote web
place. They are not having problems connecting to the
server but if i look under the networking part of the
task manager they have disconnected themselves but the
connection is still open and taking up memory.

how can I close it or have it close when they disconect?

Then I guess they're not really disconnecting.
Try: "rasdial connection-name-goes-here /disconnect" from the command line.

I just tried it didn't work.

What do you mean by "it didn't work" ? ...what errors did you get (exactly)?
You have to type the name of the connection exactly as it appears in your
Control Pane/Network Connections where I said "connection-name-goes-here"
(including the spaces if there are any - if you have spaces use quotation
marks at the beginning and the end of the name).

I tried that in the command prompt and didn't work but I
don't see a connection name I see 4 connrctions open at
28kbps. Is there another way to close those connections I
can't keep rebooting the server.

28kbps? ...I thought you said it was VPN. Are you running VPN over dial up?
....where did the 4 connections come from?
Could you post some more details?

When I tested I was on lan with the server then I went to
the server looked the task manager under networking I saw
I was the the only one connected to the server via vpn
connection and it said connected at 28kbps
