Are the contact lists in contacts folders? if so, open the address book
(ctrl+shift+b) and go to its tools, options menu - the very first option
allows you to select the address book you want to show first.

Hi Brian
I have tried doing this, but the re-ordering has no effect. Is there
another setting or configuration that needs to be set up?
I am on Outlook 2007.
:
When you have a company contact list (long list) and you have a
contact
list
set up with just the folks you want to e-mail, how do you change it
so
that
your short list will display first when you click on "To" in a new
message?
In the Standard toolbar of Outlook, click the Address Book icon. When
that
window opens, click Tools>Options and set the order there.
