How can this be impossible?

I have been told more than once that its impossible to get the same song file
displayed under various albums. I refuse to believe that anything is
impossible.

So, does anyone know how I (for example) can have only one copy of Sympathy
for the Devil on my computer and still have the song displayed under the
Interview With the Vampire soundtrack, the Sympathy for the Devil single and
the Guns N' Roses greatest hits CD?

- this of course is only one of many songs that needs to be displayed under
various albums.

I refuse to believe it can't be done. Maybe there is a way to use short cuts?!

Dont' quite understand your question. Are you asking about the same
titled song by the same artist or different artists? I have one same song
(title)
listed under 5 different albums by 5 different artists. Listings by the
same artist
I do not have for that would be redundant and a waste of disk space.
Let us know what you are trying to do, like you state, "nothing is
impossible", unless it comes to computers, then???................ :~)

I'm talking about songs by the same artist.

But I don't want to waste diskspace, so I don't want to have the same file
many times over. Like you say, that's redundant and a waste of space.

But I would still like that song displayed under many albums and not just
one of them.

For example:

The song Dead Ringer For Love is both to be found on a Cher CD and a Meat
Loaf CD. So, I want it to be shown both when I (if that should ever happen),
click on the Cher CD and on the Meat Loaf CD.

As it is now its only displayed on the Meat Loaf CD, so when I click the
Cher CD its not there. Of course, there can be multiple contributing artist,
so if I click on Cher as an artists, its there.

But I want the same song to be shown on many albums, without having to save
multiple copies of the same song.

But how?

Not without duplicating as far as I know.
