How can I use WM8 codec?

I need to create movies using Movie Maker, but have to use the WM8 rather than WM9 codec. Is it possible to change the codec? Have not found a way, and currently have to encode to WM9 first, then re-encode to WM8 which is by no means ideal.
 
Yes you can create a custom profile that uses WM8. See the following article
for the details.

some info about creating the custom profiles.
