How can I uninstall IE 7 and revert to IE 6

I suspect problems with IE 7 and to isolate them I would like to uninstall IE
7 and restore IE 6. There is no entry in the Add/Remove section of either IE
6 or IE 7. In KB there is a note referring to an IE 7 beta 2 uninstall tool
(but only for that version). The IE 7 I have is V 7.0.5730.11 which I believe
is not a beta version. Hence I am stumped as to how to remove IE 7 and get
back to IE 6. Any enlightenment would be very welcome. Sorry if this note is
in the wrong thred, but I could not find a IE 7 thread nor an IE General
thread in the listings.
Thanks,
Derek

Control Panel | Add or Remove Programs | Windows Internet Explorer 7

I strongly suspect that the problem is elsewhere so please post the problem
description to the correct newsgroup:

I am having this same problem as I have been using the beta 7.0.573.11 for
some time now and it is working ok for me but now IT has sent out e-mials
stating that we are not supporting IE7 for some time and I need to roll back
to 6. I have tried to unistall it using Add/Remove programs but there is no
Change/Remove button. It lists the size, usage and last used and thats it!!!
I have tried to upgrade teh ersion as well and that says it completes but
then when I reboot it is the same version. Is there another way to uninstall
this app?

Thanks
Glenn

IE v7.0.5730.11 is not a beta.

To uninstall Internet Explorer 7 and restore Internet Explorer 6 when using
Windows XP or Windows Server 2003

Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
Click Add or Remove Programs.
Scroll down to Windows Internet Explorer 7, click it, and then click
Change/Remove.

If you cannot find Internet Explorer 7 in Add or Remove Programs, click
Start, click Run, type %windir%\ie7\spuninst\spuninst.exe, and then press
ENTER.

Note: %windir% is the location of your Windows directory, which can usually
be found at C:\Windows. To do this, you need to have "view hidden folders"
enabled.
