Hi

Have you tried contacting AOL to see if they can help?

Give it some time. When it's "searching for AOL
versions", it usually takes quite some time and comes out
looking like it's freezing up.

Greetings --

Sadly, the only practical way I've ever found to _completely_
remove AOL from an operating system is to format the hard drive and
perform a clean installation. I absolutely loathe having to resort to
a hard drive format to fix what _should_ be a relatively minor issue,
but it takes a lot less time than manually removing/replacing all of
the Windows system files that AOL replaces with their own versions and
the hundreds of unnecessary registry entries.

Thank you all for your advice! Like Shannon said, finally the searching completed, but it told me that there was nothing it could delete even AOL 8.0 was installed. When I try to run AOL ,AOL gives me error message "Your MAIN.IDX file is damaged. If this problem persists, you may need to reinstall the American Online software. For more information, go to Keyword:help and refer to MAIN.IDX in the Error Messages section". How about I reinstall AOL and then run uninstall to delete it from my computer? Do you think this will work. Thanks a lot
