How can I type over a clip art object (ie. make an inviation)?

I am trying to make an invitation & I want to type over a clipart image. I
can't figure out how to put a transparent text box in my document. I know how
to put a typical text box in but it makes a square & that is not what I want.
I want the words to just go on top of the image with no boxes. Can anyone
help?

Click the edge of the text box to select it, and go to Format > Text Box.
Set the fill color to "No fill". Set the line color to "No line" to get rid
of the box border.

Alternatively, click on the clip art image to display the Picture toolbar.
Click on the Text Wrapping button (dog icon) and choose Behind Text. You
will then be able to type over the image using ordinary document text (no
need for a text box).
