How can I trim some time out of an existing WMV file?

Hi,

I have a WMV file that was generated from a LiveMeeting session (PPT slides
are captured in sync with telephone audio).

All I want to do is delete the first 30 seconds or so from the file, but I
can't figure out how to do this.

I tried using MM2. I successfully imported the WMV file and figured out how
to split the clip to remove the first 30 seconds. However, when I drag the
remaining clip onto the timeline in order to save the shortened version, it
absolutely butchers the image and sound quality. I didn't want to transform
the video to another format. I just want to crop some time of the beginning.

Is there any simple way to do what should be a simple task?

Try downloading WM encoder 9 series from microsoft,in the encoder, select
"convert audio/video" Select the file,run the encoder,stop after .30
seconds,the
original file will/would be .30 seconds shorter as it was converted..Odd
way,but
would work...
