I access my e-mail through Windows Mail. I am trying to install Trend
Micro's Internet Security 2008 software, and when the installation wizard
tries to run the program, I get a message that says that the program cannot
be installed with Windows Mail running. I'm stuck. Help?

A recent version of the Trend antivirus program (details not available)
causes assorted problems with Windows Mail if you install it. Are you
sure you want to install such a program?

I recommend either avast! or AVG instead, either one with a custom
install where you tell it to leave out the part that scans email.

Windows Mail is like any other program. You can click FILE and then EXIT to
close it, or you can click on the X at the upper right hand corner. Having
said that, many antivirus programs are conflicting with Windows Mail, so be
sure to exclude mail checking if you use virus protection - pay special
attention to the info from the previous poster (robertmiles....).
