Hi everybody,

My configuration is as follows :
- A sound-card with my speakers connected to it.
- A headset connected to a USB port.

An my question is :
How can I quickly/momentarily switch from speakers to headset and visa versa
without quitting the application that I am using at that moment ?

Example :
I am listening via my speakers to a song with Media Player 10.
While doing so, I decide to continue my listening via my headset, in order
not to disturb anybody any longer with my noice.

The only possible way seems to be as follows :
- Shut down Media Player.
- Change from speakers to headset via the Volume-icon in the system tray
- Start my listening pleasure all over again

Is there a faster, instantly way to do this changeover from speakers to
headset and the other way arround please ?

You complicated matters by using a USB headset.

The easiest way I see would be: using ordinary headphones with a speaker-set
that has a headphones connector. Then plugging in your headphones would
usually shut off your speakers.
A volume knob on the phones or in the cable would help you adjust volumes
when changing devices.

(Obviously you could then think of switches, mixer panels and all.)

Hi chris, thanks for your answer.

I have had that solution before, but I didn't really like it to plug and
unplug the headset to and from my speaker-box (because a bit out of reach).

What I would really like is a toggle via one of the programmable keys on my
MS-Digital-Media keyboard.
I realise that I might be a bit too demanding.

Thanks anyway for your quick answer.
