Gerry,
A problem you might run into is if you need to change the volume in the
receiver of the handset. The Volume button on the handset may not work. You
may need to manually change it either through the Volume Icon on the System
Tray or Voice tab under the Volume button from Sound & Audio Devices in the
Control Panel:
Under Options> Properties> Mixer Device> Select USB Handset> And change the
settings to what you desire through the handset.
I know for me on my Logitech 350 headset, the volume control knob adjusts
whatever the default Audio device that is listed, same as my MS media
keyboard. So if my speakers are listed as the default audio device, the
volume control on the headset, will adjust the plug in speakers, not the
headset. The Mute button will mute the headphones.
If you upgrade to Vista in the future, there is a change in the way sound
devices are handled. You will have to manually change the settings when
using different sound devices, every time. I personally have experience
that, with an upgrade to Vista. One of the reasons I went back to XP.
