Hi,
Every so often, VISTA changes the look of my folder.
For example, My 'root folder', (c, currently only has one column, 'Name',
and nothing else.
I also have a number of folder that randomly became what looks like image
folders, "Name, Date Taken, Tags, Size, Rating".
This seems to be the most common change made to the folders, but for the
life of me I cannot even start to guess why some folders are changed when
others are not.
Some time it also changes the view, from 'details' to 'medium icons' and so
forth.
It looks like vista makes some terrible assumptions, for example, if there
is one image in a folder of 200 documents, it will convert the folder into a
'medium icon' type of view. If there is one video, it will try to 'preview'
all files, regardless of the fact that I never asked it to and that there
are mostly documents in the folder.
Using the option 'Folder Options->View->Apply to Folders' also has no effect
whatsoever, (does it even do anything or is it just a joke?).
So, how can I set my folders to my preferences and stop VISTA from messing
thing up.
I have the latest MS updates, VISTA Ultimate and my AVG is also up to date.
Thanks
Simon
