I am having the same problem with my HP color laserjet
2500L. I spent 2 hours on the phone with HP yesterday
and they can't help because it has something to do (they
claim, anyway)with Windows not recognizing that the
printer is installed. Or something like that. They told
me to contact Microsoft.

By installing ALL of the drivers for ALL of the functions that the device
has. Once you get them all installed, the message should go away!

Many thanks, Is there a trick to installing all the options, basically, how
do I do that, but I will try something at work tomorrow and report
back...........Peter

I had to assist my brother (72 year old computer illiterate) install his HP
multifunction. I had him insert the CD and ran the install program. Rebooted
when told. Again the window came up. He allowed it to "search" the CD for
what it needed. Rebooted. AGAIN the window came up! Same thing. Rebooted.
Once again yet. Finally, on the 4th reboot, everything was done. He hasn't
seen the window since.

I wonder if he ever took the CD out of the tray (-:
