How can I speed up search for activities for a contact?

When I clicked the ACTIVITIES tab on an Outlook contact, it took 4-6 minutes
to find all the email messages and jornal entries, so I bought a RAMDisk,
which cuts the time down to 10-15 seconds. Is there any other solution to
this waste of time?
 
Cut down on the number of folders being searched by modifying the activities group settings in the Properties dialog of the contacts folder.
