I've tried to read WMM 2.1 video files into VirtualDub to solve the dark
video problem. However, that program will not read any of those files. So,
how do I use VirtualDub to solve the problem?

With kindest regards,

How are you saving the files?
Are you trying to import the project files into VirtualDub or the finished
movie?
Also is the video dark when viewed in your media player or the preview
window of WMM?

Hi, Wojo;

Thanks for your interest. I have tried to read project files and finished
movie files into VirtualDub. It will not open either one.

Preview doesn't work right on my system; it only displays the upper,
left-hand eighth of the image. The video is dark when I'm editing.

With kindest regards,

Papajohn's got this one in his newest post.
Hopefully VirtualDub does the trick for you.

Remember then that what the video looks like when editing is not necesarily
the same as the completed and rendered movie.

In my 'effects' collection I have 'brightness' increase and decrease,
contrast changes, and various color and tone effects. I don't know if they
originally came with MM2.1 or if I bought them....but they do the trick for
brightness/contrast/color.
