How can I slow down the transition between slides?

I have set up my presentation to run automatically and under slide transition
have set the number of seconds that I want the slide to remain in view in
order for people to read the content. Even though I have put 15 seconds in
the box the slides aren't remaining for that time.

Also putting music from a file on the presentation, even though I have put
loop in the song stops after it has gone through just once which is about
half way through the presentation. I have 59 slides and have said I want the
music to go from 1 to 59.

1) How are you controlling the advancement of the slides?
a. Auto-advance (in slide transition) checked and set to 00:15
b. Use timings if present (SlideShow => Setup) checked?

2) Have you told the sound to loop (repeat)?
Sound object => Animation pane => Timing => Repeat => x2

I have put the 15 second in the time transition and have also set the loop
to repeat from the sound icon. But neither these features seem to operate.

I've got around the problem by just inserting another sound of the same
music when it has come to an end.

I got over the transition problem bu inserting a rectangular, whiting it out
(as my background is white) had bringing it in on slow transition. This
gives extra time to read the script without anyone seeing it--a bit
unauthodox, but it works where the other methods don't seem to.
