You want detail, but you're not giving anyone enough information to help
you. What brand of computer? Did it come with a manual? Did you read it?
Have you tried looking at the manufacturer's website for information?
What do the labels on your CDs say?

A post to the below group might also prove fruitful as this sounds like
software problem.

All you have to do is boot from your restore CD

1. Call the tech support number that came with the PC.
2. Say "I want to do reinstall".
3. Do what the tech tells you.
