How can I set a time limit for Internet use?

If we are talking kids usage here you can almost bet that whatever you they
will know, or very quickly learn how to circumvent it. :)

First of all how many user accounts are there on the computer?

Its not my computer but a freind. As far as I know I believe there are 2
accounts. Deleteing one account would not be a problem. From what I gather
she just wants to limit her sons internet use.

Well, the reason I asked is that if the machine runs under that
administrator account whatever is installed or changed can be undone. The
only way I can see anything lasting is for Mom to set something up as
administrator and give son his own limited account. With some software that
can be a real pain if you are not 100% sure what you are doing. Of course
son must not know admin password.

There's nothing built in that will do this, but you see my point if software
is employed, there will be a need for some learning and setting up.

Try 'Chronoger' at softforyou.com I got it recently and its a great
program as it enables yo to schedule when the Internet can be accessed
and for how long. Also you can schedule when the computer can be used
as a whole, and when particular programs and the Internet can be
accessed. Its worked for me!
