With win 98, when I was about to ZIP up files, as I keep
selecting files (using CTL or SHIFT key) there would be a
TOTAL byte size calculation in the bottom bar which was
very helpful.... I don't see an option for this
information in XP. Please tell me how this is possible!

Thank you.

That's the way it works here, but I use classic view and I'm not
sure whether it's the same in the new XP view.

Or if it's that you're missing that bottom bar, the status bar,
click View | Status bar.

Hi,

To be able to see the total size of files you have selected in Explorer,
you need to have the Status Bar turned on. To do this, go to the View menu
in Explorer and click on 'Status Bar'. The Status Bar will then appear at
the bottom of the window and when you select files will show the number of
objects selected as well as the total size selected.
