i have a presentation that was created using a template that I don't have. I
need to change it so that it conforms to our corporate branding, without copy
and pasting all the content into another presentation (which will remove all
the formatting). Is there any way I can simply replace their template with
our own?
Thanks

Do you really mean a template, or is the issue mostly just the background?
Sounds to me like you probably just need to swap out the background.

One way is to open their file, go to View | Master | Slide Master, and make
your changes there. You can open your template to Master View also and use
Format Painter back and forth to help. Copy/paste background elements from
your file to theirs, etc. You can edit the color scheme also, and it may
update the colors of objects throughout the presentation, but it depends on
how the presentation was created in the first place, really.

It's hard to give more specific instrux without knowing how everything's
constructed.

Hi Echo S

Thanks a million, you just saved me hours of messing around with the
presentation (it's very long!).

Yes, it was the background, rather than a template, which I think made
things a lot more straightforward. I've learnt new tips too, so a very
useful response all round.

Much appreciated.
