How can I redefine external hard drive letter??

I have an external drive. When I first connected it, it was defined as
drive "F". I did several Norton Ghost backups to that drive. I do not
keep the drive on all the time.

Yesterday I connected my iPod and it was defined as "F". Now when I
turn on my external drive it comes up as "G" even though the iPod is
not connected. Even if I turn off my PC and turn it back on and then
turn on the hard drive it comes up as "G".

I cannot access the backups that I did because it's looking for drive
"F" which isn't mounted.

What can I do??

Thanks

It would be an extremely broken backup program, if it was locked to
the backup being on a specific drive. Find out how to use your
software. It likely can access the backups on the other drive.

If it is Win XP, go into drive management and change the drive letter.

(Left clink on my computer, select manage, select disk management)

Thats normal, drive letters are persistent with the NT/2K/XP family.

Tell Ghost to look at G instead.
