Hi,

I've just reformatted my computer which runs Windows XP. My previous
installation had been an upgrade from Windows 98, and it had had an icon to
take me to the desktop from the toolbar at the bottom of each page. I see
no such icon now. How can I put an icon to take me to the desktop in the
Start menu in Windows XP?

right click on the task bar and select tool bars, then select desktop.

this will put the desktop icons in a drop down menu of the taskbar.
