How can I print out the ..........

How can I print out the "processes" from the
Windows Task Mgr. I seem to have a lot running,
which I think it making my pc slower. I would
like to check where they came from and if they
are necessary or can I delete them......Thanks !
 
there are a number of methods
to analyze and print them.

however, i use a utility called
siw and think it is worth it's weight
in gold:

information. afterwards

one easy way but tedious:
increase the height of the task mgr to the max
for each taskmgr screen,
hold down alt key and click the Print Screen key
paste and append word document
when all done print

another way search and download Microsoft website for tasklist

Open a Command Prompt and use the TASKLIST command. Use a redirector
(>) to send the output of the command to file.

tasklist >C:\tasks.txt

Now look for the file "tasks.txt in the root folder C:\ . You can print
it from Notepad. If you want the processes running inside the svchost
run this command:

tasklist /svc >C:\tasks.txt

Do tasklist /? for help on the command.

tasklist is available in XP pro however not all version of xp home will have
that command available.

IN that case, one will have to search for the tools to download. it used be
from sysinternal, but now is part of Microsoft

How many do you think is "a lot"? Having 60-70 is normal and by no means
unusual.

Others will undoubtedly give information on how to do this. My advice is to
leave it alone. You will more likely create a problem than solve one.
