Click on View, Header and Footer, and under Include on slide, check mark
Date and time and Update automatically.

If you don't like where Microsoft places your date, then click on View,
Master, Slide Master and move the date place holder to anywhere you would
like it to appear on all you slides.

This being said, if you move it to the middle of the screen an then put you
picture in, it will not appear. You will have to put your pictures as
background images on the slide.

Date on pictures said:
I'm going to print pictures and I wanted to know how to print dates on
them.

Make a text box on top of the first picture. Insert the date is the text
size and color you desire. Drag the box to where you want it to be. If all
the dates will be the same you can highlight that text box and Copy it. Now
you can Paste that text box onto all your pictures. If the dates will not
be the same you can still Paste the copied text box onto a picture and then
edit the text to the date you wish. This technique also works well for
identifying the people in each picture.

Now the text boxes with dates and/or names will appear during any slide show
or when you print individual slides. You can make the text box background
transparent so only the text will appear or, if you wish, you can make the
text background any color.

Afterthought. If all you want is the CURRENT date on pictures you can just
click on Insert... Date and Time, and it will place that info below your
slides. You can choose to automatically update that info or to lock it in
manually. If there are people you wish to identify you can choose
Insert...text and type in names.
