I am planning to format my harddisk and re-install Windows. How can I prevent having to download XP upgrades after the rebuild? It takes forever! Can I, for example, save the previously downloaded upgrades onto a DVD, copy them back after the formatting and the XP re-install, and then run them one after the other? Thx, JB

Hello
Yes there is you can go to View Installation History see which ones you have
downloaded then go to Windows Update Catalog and burn the ones you want to
download.

There is no way to "save" updates that were taken by the express
installation. You will have to either, re-download them, or get someone with
a hi-speed connection to download the "network install" versions and burn
them to a disk for you.

Hi John,

The Windows Security Update CD can be ordered from here:

http://www.microsoft.com/security/protect/cd/order.asp

The CD includes Microsoft critical updates released through October
2003 (and SP4 for Windows 2000 / SP1 for Windows XP) as well as
information to help you protect your PC.

Supports Windows XP home and pro, Windows Me, Windows 2000, Windows
98, and Windows 98 Second Edition (SE).

Hope this helps
