The XP client must be able to register its IP addresses in the DNS forward
lookup zone. All clients and the server must point only to the address of
the Win2k DNS, File sharing and Client for MS Networks bound. For the client
to be seen in Network Neighborhood NetBIOS over TCP/IP must be enabled.
Verify the existence of the client host records in yiour domain's forward
lookup zone with nslookup.
If all checks out see if you can connect by FQDN in your browser by typing
\\client.domain.com\
And run netdiag \v \test:dns on the clients you are sharing resources on.
The latest version of Netdiag can be downloaded from Microsoft, here:

The first thing you need to do is disable ICS It is not compatable with DNS.
will not support DDNS and cannot be reconfigured.

Configure NAT in RRAS to share you connection but don't let it install ICS

Either use static addressing or Use DHCP
Configure DHCP using the same IP range to make it easier you need these
scope options in DHCP:
003 Use the private address of the router or machine that has the internet
connection on it
006 DNS servers use *ONLY* the IP of the AD DNS server
015 DNS domain name, the DNS domain name of your AD domain.

For internet access follow this KB article to configure your DNS server:

Just to add, even the server *must* point to its own IP address for DNS.
