I am trying to open a picture that shows up with a red x. I need to know
You can't. Someone with Word 97 opened the document but didn't have MS
Office SP-2 installed on his computer. Your graphic image is irretrievable
from this file. You'll need to resort to a backup made at a time before
this file was corrupted. And the particular computer that caused this
damage needs all of the service packs installed so this doesn't happen
again.
BTW, this newsgroup is for Microsoft Access, the database application that's
part of MS Office. Please post questions about Access in this newsgroup and
questions for other topics in other, more appropriate newsgroups. You'll be
