my mail box in outlook has crashed. tried to reinstall but it did not fix.
I have a new outlook express that showed up when I tried to install, but I
cannot move my address book as the import-export bar in the old outlook does
not work. the import export box in the outlook express will not find the old
personal address folder or contact folder in the list of files. ?

Maybe if you tell us about the problems you had with Outlook we can help you
to get it up and running again...even if you still only want to use it to
export your contacts to OE.

thank you for your quick reply. Originally the Outlook program would open,
but not load any email's. I got suspicious - and went to tools . There were
no email accounts listed and I couldn't get the email box to open to create
them again. So I kept trying to reinstall outlook. However that didn't
work. So then I went to my email set ups on my other computer and tried to
email them to the new outlook express . That worked. The the final try to
reinstall outlook worked except now I have to re-enter all my calendar dates,
and try to find what happened to all my saved emails and their folders. I
had to reset outlook from the beginning without keeping the shortcuts.
Luckily I had sync'd my aol calendar and was able to print a paper copy to
copy. Thanks again.

I forgot to ask you for your Outlook version last time -- it always helps to
include your program version when asking for support. If you go to Control
Panel | Mail | Show Profiles, are there any profiles listed there? If so,
you might want to try deleting them and creating a new profile from scratch.
You would then need to search your hard drive for your .PST file (it may be
in a hidden folder if you use Windows 2000 or XP) and then attach it to the
new profile.
