How can I make my cd media writeable?

I cannot make my "raw, unformatted" CD-RW media capable
of being written to. How can I fomat them to handle data
files? Thanks!

You may need help from a third party program such as
Roxio or Nero to create "formatted" CD-RWs. You can
create a data disk with WinXP. Use the AutoPlay format by
going to My Computer/rightclick your CD-ROM
drive/Properties and click the AutoPlay tab and select
Open folders then click Recording tab and "Enbale CD
recording on this disk.

Your third party burning software will take care of the formatting
necessary for packet writing. XP's CD writing features can write to CD/RWs
but not using packet writing. Therefore formatting is not necessary.
