How can I make contacts private? (i.e. contacts with passwords)

I store various passwords and private information with some of my contacts.
I want to keep these "notes" within my contacts private or the entire contact
private/hidden/password protected.

You can only password protect the entire .pst file. Marking them private
does nothing for anyone with access to your machine. I would suggest a
better method for storing passwords, such as in a separate .pst file that
you can password protect.

Not 100% sure I understand what you're trying to do but if it's just some of
the contacts and you're using Outlook 2003, look in the bottom right hand
corner of your contact screen. There is a block that you can checkmark for
PRIVATE. It does work and you can make the ones you want private checkmarked
and leave the ones to share without the checkmark. It worked on our network
where I work.
Good luck
