How can I know if my system supports DDR2?

Unzip the downloaded file. Double click on CPUZ.exe
to run the program. The program will need 20-30 seconds
before it starts (it has to query some slow hardware).

Click the "About" tab. Click "HTML Dump" near the
bottom of the page. The program will ask you where
you want to store the HTML dump. Put it some place
where you will be able to find it. The file name is
cpuz.htm .

Now, double click the "cpuz.htm" file that was just
created by the "HTML Dump". Your web browser will open
and display the information. You'll see lines like this:

Memory Type DDR
Memory Size 1024 MBytes

Module 1 DDR, PC3200 (200 MHz), 512 MBytes, Micron Technology
Module 2 DDR, PC3200 (200 MHz), 512 MBytes, Micron Technology

And that should give you some idea what kind of memory
is in the system.

If you click the "SPD" tab on the CPUZ window, the
menu with the "slot numbers" will show you how many
slots the program thinks your motherboard has. Mine
shows "Slot #1" through "Slot #4", and two of the
slot selections show data. That means I have room for
two more DIMMs.

Crucial (owned my Micron Technologies) also has a system
scanner. I've never tried it.
