How can i import contacts into address book?

I recently re-installed my XP Office after cloning a new computer. All my
contact info is there but nothing in the address book.
 
right click on the contacts folder, choose properties - is it enabled as an
address book?

Yes it is enabled. Driving me nuts with over 2500 contacts stored.

how do you get your data back into Outlook - moving the pst, importing it,
or using the windows xp/office save my settings wizards?

Try this:

Go to Tools | Email Accounts, choose View or change existing directories or
address book. Is the Outlook Address Book present? If it isn't listed, add
it and close and restart Outlook. (it should be in your case.) If it is
listed, then remove it and close then restart Outlook and repeat these steps
to add it. Then verify the contacts is enabled as an address book.

Also - open the address book (tools, address book or the address book icon)
and choose Tools, Options. Is the address book listed in the lower screen.
(Might want to check here before trying the steps above.)

Yes i did the last suggestion first & open address book which was there now,
so i guess i'm okay but when i type new email it doesn't automatically
recognize the related email address like it use to-only after i put it in
after sending the msg and putting it in the second time. Is that because i
had to reinstall Outlook and i will have to use each address one time first?

Yes, it only remembers the addresses after you used them once, either for
new mail or in a reply.
