How can I import an addressbook?

I am having a hard time importing an addressbook from Outlook Express to
Outlook. The .wab file is copied onto a floppy but Outlook does not appear
to recognize it -- any advice?

Also -- when loading Outlook, it continually looks for a personal
addressbook on the floppy and will not continue to load until that floppy is
provided. How do I stop that?

Thanks!

Outlook cannot import a WAB. Outlook Express can.
Import it to OE, then import from OE to Outlook.

Your second question cannot be answered without knowing your Outlook
version. If I were you I'd remove that PAB from the profile. Outlook has not
used a PAB for years.

OK -- and how do I do that?

Again, don't know how to do that -- where's the profile?

Thanks much!
Ann

How do you import into OE? Not sure. I've never used OE. I would assume
you'd use File > Import > Address Book...
If not, you need to ask in an OE group.

I still can't answer your second question. You still did not provide your
Outlook version.

Thanks anyway -- I figured it out myself.

Oh -- sorry! It's Outlook 2003. Any other info you need?

So do you have all your Contacts imported into your Contacts Folder in
Outlook?
If so, what you need to do next is remove the Personal Address Book that
points to a file on a floppy and replace it with the Outlook Address Book,
which will display your Contacts in the Address Book.
Go to Tools | Email Accounts, choose View or change existing directories or
address book. Remove the Personal Address Book. If the Outlook Address Book
is not present, add it and close and restart Outlook.

Book here:

That did the trick, Russ -- thanks SO very much!

Best,
Ann
