how can I highlight segments of a pie chart in turn in PP

I am using a SmartGraphic pie chart and I want to highlight each segment in
turn - how can I do that - it only wants to highlight the first segment

Do you mean maybe change the fill with a custom animation? If so apply and in
effect options > smart art animation choose group graphic . one by one
