How can I grab a single frame from a DVD to use in PowerPoint?

I want to grab an individual frame from a DVD (playing in my computer) and
save it as a JPG to use in a PowerPoint presentation. I wouldn't think I
would need to install any hardware since the movie is already playing in my
computer. Thanks in advance.

Almost all DVD player software has the ability to capture a single frame and
export it as an image. Have you read the documentation for your player?

My DVD application is "Win DVD version 3.2 DXVA" Its associated Help
section says to make a capture press the "P" key. I tried it but it doesn't
work. I wonder if my four year app is too old to function in Windows XP?
Can you name another that I can download?

Thanks, Jonathon 2073m

You probably need to look in the program configuration to see where it's
storing the capture. Or, it may simply copy it to clipboard and you must
paste the image into a graphics application, such as Windows Paint or
IrfanView or.....
