How can I get phrases or words to zoom into slide when giving a presentation?

Use the custom animation effects.

Is there something specific you're having difficulty with?
 
If you want to get particular words or phrases within a paragrah to animate,
then you will need to create addtional textbox and type in the words, before
you add the custom animations.
