How can i get still Images(Pics) from a video or a DVD ??

How can i get still Images(Pics) from a video or a DVD ?
my computer has a "Print Screen" button on my keyboard but it'll just copy the desktop and the window i'm playin the video or movie in and it'll just leave the part where the video is supose to be blank(black) am I missing some kind of file,component,patch.........ect

is there anyway to get images out of a vid

You need a program that has the ability to do screen
captures. For example, I use Power DVD to play DVDs
on my computer. It has an option that allows me to left
click any time I like and it places a screen capture into
the folder of my choice.

If your computer has a DVD drive...you may have similar
software already installed.
