how can I get Outlook to stop asking me to enable Instant Search

At the top of my InBox listing I have the command:
Click here to enable Instance Search

When I search files for text I'm using the older method. Indexing Service is
disabled.

Is the Instant Search in Outlook related to Indexing Service.

If so, how can I get Outlook to stop asking - others use my machine and I
afraid someone will click it.

If not, is there a down side to using Instant Search?

Thanks

Here are the steps to remove the Enable Instant Search prompt. Not sure what version of Outlook you are using, but this is for OL 2007

In Outlook 2007, go to Tools -> Options -> Other -> Advanced Options and remove the check for "Show prompts to enable Instant Search".

Office 2007 and XP.
Is the Instant Search in Outlook related to Indexing Service of Windows
(which I do not have installed)
Thanks

Generally speaking, you should use instant search. It's 100x better and
there are few, if any, downsides.

Yes, Instant search uses Desktop Search engine.
