Hi all. In XL95, when I do File Close, it prompts me "Save changes in.....xls ??

In XL2000 it just vanishes without saving.

Please how can I fix this. ?

TIA

AFAIK there is no option to allow saving unsaved changes to be overridden in
the way you describe. My installation of 2000 exhibits the normal behaviour
of prompting if I've made changes but not saved when I try to close the
workbook.

Perhaps you have the autosave feature turned on and unbeknown to you the
workbook is actually being saved in the background?

Agree with Bill, XL2000 and XL2002 still prompt you to save a changed
workbook.

Bill and Bob - Where can I find out whether the autosave feature is
turned on please ? Tks Charles

Autosave is an addin in Excel 2000. Look in Tools=>Addin. Do you have it
selected?

IIRC, it's under tools|Autosave.

You could look under Tools|Addins to see if the addin were installed, too.
Although, it could be installed without being turned on.

Tom - the behaviour I am seeking is not the automatic saving at say 30
minute intervals, which the Autosave add-in probably gives us, but the
"want to save? " prompt upon file closure, which might be after say 10
minutes.
