How can I get a Recovery CD?

Hello, does anyone know if I can download a Recovery CD for asn HP
Pavilion ZE5170 laptop?...can I download an ISO somewhere?

The reaosn is because I have one of these thaty the drive went bad on.
I try to install Win XP back on the machine, it goes through and
formats and copies files and then when it restarts all I get is a black
screen with a blinking White cursor.

Could HP be doing something that will notr allow me to just put on an
OS? Can they do something so I ave to use a CD?

In BIOS the drive is seen as a SAMSUNG...etc. But even in WIN XP
install it says it does not recognize the mass storage device but shows
a 20GB space for partition.

So anyone know what could be the problem?

www.hp.com and insert your model in the search box. Alternatively,
insert "recovery CD" in the box.
